When The Trees Begin To Dance
There’s a special after bedtime when the moon is full and white
Teddy’s tucked in next to me and my night light’s burning bright
I tiptoe out of bed to see the fairies waiting just for me
It’s the magical time of evening when the trees begin to dance
Stepping out my window, I wave to them and sigh
The unicorns neigh softly as if laughing in reply
I am skipping, I am running, I am hopping with the bunnies
It’s a wonderful time of evening when the trees begin to dance
I dawn a dress of shining gold, a silken crown so tall
And dancing with a small oak tree, I join the magic ball
There are frogs and butterflies, delicious cakes and apple pies
It’s a special time of evening when the trees begin to dance
Elves tell me stories and sing me songs of castles, knights, and queens
The mermaids tell me wondrous tales of seas where they have been
I tell them of my home and school while sailing 'cross a diamond pool
It’s a marvelous time of evening when the trees begin to dance
And when the last song has been sung and all the food is gone
I curtsy to the trees and blow a kiss to everyone
A dragon flies me back to bed, I lay down to rest my tired head
It’s been a perfect time of evening when the trees did sing and dance

Beautiful! Though, I did accidently read the first word of the fourth stanza as "Elvis", which threw me off for a minute - I thought his presence a rather crass intrusion.
Wow! What a beautiful area! Thanks for sharing a bit of your past with us.
